The financing of the health system is a crucial factor that determines the state of health and well-being of the population. In Niger, as in many poor countries, spending is still too weak to ensure equitable access to services and essential health interventions. The reduction or absence of public resources subsidy of health services and health care pricing have created a dysfunctional public health care institutions with a negative impact on the ability of households to cope with the burdens of the disease. To identify the health funding problem, Niger through the Ministry of Health developed this document. The development of the funding strategy was done in three phases.
- A phase of collecting information in the field;
- A Development of the first draft phase;
- And a validation phase of the document in national workshop.
